This lower ground floor and upper ground floor maisonette in Highbury was purchased with a view to transform it for two sisters living in Islington and working in the City. The existing property was in dire need of a complete overhaul to transform it into a chic, restrained sequence of spaces providing a calm oasis away from busy work life.
The Kitchen
Black-stained cabinetry with brass hardware anchors the kitchen, paired with a marble-effect splashback and crisp white worktops. The oak island introduces warmth against herringbone flooring. Sculptural black wall lights, glass pendants and a generous skylight enhance light and texture, creating a refined, contemporary family kitchen.
“From our first contact with My/Architect, through the planning and building process, the team and their communications with us were most professional and efficient. Architect and structural engineer fees were transparent and as stated. The team have close links with an array of good building companies and the finished result was an excellent reflection on all the professionals and trades involved.”

The Bathroom
Soft green vertical tiles bring gentle texture to the shower, complemented by brushed brass fittings. A large skylight floods the bathroom with daylight, enhancing the calm, neutral palette. Minimal cabinetry, pale stone flooring and warm timber accents create a serene, contemporary space with refined detailing.
Bespoke Staircase
A bespoke oak slatted balustrade becomes a sculptural feature, paired with herringbone flooring for warmth and continuity. Soft neutral walls frame a green velvet sofa with blush accents, while simple joinery and natural light create a calm, contemporary living space defined by clean lines and crafted timber detailing.
